The Big Bang! Prize Anthology is a unique series of best first pages of thrillers, and more, including Lee Child's judge's notes, and his introduction, discussing how to create great openings for thrillers.

We recently ran the 'Black Spring Prize for Best Opening To a Crime Book' that was looking for the best 50-200 words of an opening for a crime-mystery-thriller novel. We very much hope the prize encourages people to start a novel, with this entry's first page – and maybe go on to complete it. Now we are publishing those finalists and offering the winner a chance for a publishing contract with BSPG. 

Incredibly, it was judged by Mr. Jack Reacher himself, Lee Child the world-famous, best-selling author of the 'Jack Reacher' series, whose books have sold over 100 million copies. He will also include an introduction alongside our resident crime editor, Luca Veste who is the internationally bestselling author of eight novels and the host of the hit podcast Two Crime Writers and a Microphone.

Long ago people would say, “This is a great book, but you need to give it fifty pages.” That's crazy now, in our hyper-fast world. Now readers give you fifty words. Your first paragraph, basically.
