Dante Micheaux Joins Eyewear Publishing Limited as New Editor
American poet, Dante Micheaux, will judge the 2017 Beverly Prize and join our team as Editor-At-Large. Micheaux’s main focus in this role will be soliciting and developing new manuscripts from the US to contribute to an already strong list of poets and writers. Eyewear is committed to becoming a home to authors from underrepresented communities, as well as continuing to publish some of the most innovative voices in the English language—bridging the Atlantic, and bringing North American and European poetry and writing ever closer, at a time of disunion and disarray in the US and UK.
Micheaux is the author of Amorous Shepherd (Sheep Meadow Press, 2010). His poems and translations have appeared in Poetry, PN Review, The American Poetry Review, Callaloo and Tongue: A Journal of Writing & Art—among other journals and anthologies. He has been shortlisted for the Benjamin Zephaniah Poetry Prize and the Bridport Prize. Micheaux’s honours include a prize in poetry from the Vera List Center for Art & Politics, the Oscar Wilde Award and fellowships from Cave Canem Foundation and The New York Times Foundation. For the past 15 years, he has worked in arts and education administration, and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from New York University.
