We're delighted to wish one of England's finest living poets a very happy birthday this week! Elspeth Smith turns 92! She is known for her gnomic, witty, poignant and sometimes sinister 'little poems' of a few lines - no other poet since the Imagistes has written so well, so briefly. her compact gems - often recalling parties during WW2, and their eerie aftermath - speak so powerfully of a life lived, of love long ago...
