We're a British very small press, so the uncertainty around Brexit (will we or won't we?) has shoppers a bit wary. Book sales are down 9% in the UK from last year... so we have moved some of our titles to the (we hope) calmer post-crisis waters of publication in 2020 and 2021, when we hope reviewers and readers will be able to focus on more than the often-outrageous news... but we still have plenty out this autumn, as well... here are some of the forthcoming authors from Eyewear/ Black Spring over the next 24 months; writers and poets from...

Dr Alex Wylie's critical monograph, Geoffrey Hill's Later Work: Radiance of Apprehension was published by Manchester University Press on September 12th 2019. The work of Geoffrey Hill (1932-2016) often provokes bemusement or even hostility; however, he was often referred to as 'the greatest living poet' and variants thereof, when alive. Oxford Professor of Poetry from 2010-2015, Hill published in 2013 his collected poems, Broken Hierarchies: Poems 1952-2012, which included four previously-unpublished collections and substantial expansions and revisions of existing works, and in 2008 published his Collected Critical Writings, a volume comprising all his published criticism and two new major collections...

Since 1985, Black Spring Press has produced work by Nick Cave, Anaïs Nin, Charles Baudelaire, Kyril Bonfiglioli, Carolyn Cassady and Leonard Cohen, among many impressive others. Black Spring specialises in the contemporary, as well as breathing new life into neglected classics.
