A heady bacchanal of linguistic cynicism and laughably premature nostalgia, chronic youth charts the disintegration of a youth's self-righteous anger. Oliver Jones' narrator navigates us through his own sense of gracelessness and missed opportunities in a world where confessional impulses are diverted by violent fantasy and revelations subverted by time and a culture's collective myopia. This is a verbally exciting debut by a young British poet of real promise.

Oliver Jones is a British-Peruvian poet hailing from London. He holds a B.A. honours degree in Philosophy from Oxford University and has edited two Eyewear pamphlet anthologies, #refugeeswelcome and the forthcoming #NousSommesParis. His poem was included in The Poet's Quest for God anthology and he is the author of Donald Trump: The Rhetoric. He also writes for and co-edits the music/lit blog Follower of Nothing.

Chronic youth announces the arrival of an exciting new voice in British poetry. In these poems, we enter a surprising, even macabre world ... This book is itself like the air in one of the collection’s standout poems: ‘it enlivens us with the contours of its own existence

-Chris Jackson

The day closes down like a bread-cutter, slicing

without warning and leaving the dresses tangled

in the evening when the sun sets in. No biggie.

I’ll take that sunset and raise you a universe.
