Congratulations to C.P. Mangel!

The winners of the IndieReader 2021 Discovery Awards Winners include C.P. Mangel’s verse novel A Wounded Deer Leaps Highest in the New Adult Category.

IndieReader launched the IRDAs in 2011 to help notable indie authors receive the attention of top publishing professionals, with the goal of reaching more readers. Amy Edelman, author and founder of IndieReader, noted, “The books that won the IRDAs this year are not simply great indie books; they are great books, period. We hope that our efforts via the IRDAs ensure that they receive attention from the people who matter most. Potential readers.”

A Wounded Deer Leaps Highest received a strong review from IndieReader, which can be read in full at IndieReader Review , in which IR Reviewer Shari Simpson noted: “Poetic, soaring, and heartbreaking, C.P. Mangel’s A WOUNDED DEER LEAPS HIGHEST irresistibly draws the reader into the world of Asa Horace, a 15-year old mixed-race girl confronting the Jim Crow South after her parents move the family from Chicago to North Carolina in 1950.”

A Wounded Deer Leaps Highest is available to buy NOW.
